Hi All,
I have a question that may make me look like a grade A muppet, but i cant find the answer, so here goes...
I am trying to use my remote SQL Server credentials to log into the DB from my web.config, as i dont have the IP address.
The key below seems to connect, but then gives me an 'invalid object name' error, where it seems unhappy with everything[*-)]. I read that it might be because it isn't in the right format to process the data. I have tried removing the network library info,
but that doesn't change the result.
<add key="myConnectionString" value="Data Source=mssql.host.net;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=myDB;User Id=usr;Password=pwd;" />
The Host hasn't given me the IP, and i dont have the privileges in the DB to execute the stored procedure to find it out (I have tried). Can i use my SQL server login credentials to log in from the web.config, or do i definitely need the IP address please?
Any help much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Justin
